VR will go right back where it has been for 15 years. no one will be using Oculus for anything but a museum piece. There have been people warning others NOT to buy a game because DK2 support isn't there, and the system hasn't even been officially released yet.ĭon't worry 10 years from now. 95% of the headsets sold have gone to basement-dwelling gamers who have now become literally livid that their favorite game isn't DK2 ready yet. If only developers were being allowed to currently purchase the headset we wouldn't be seeing this DK2 stuff on every single thread related to every single game. Oculus, and the entire concept of VR, is a temporary fad. Yeah, Oculus does look much better than the first time around, in the 90s. No matter how realistic what you see and hear is, it still isn't and it's only a matter of time before the big deflation of hope. After VR arrived though, and the WOW factor died down, people re-realized the truth. The first time around articles were purporting that VR would revolutionize computing, life, work, vacations, etc. Like the first incarnation of VR the hype is through the roof.
